Pemi Kanavos (Author):

Pemi Kanavos was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and at the age of eight, relocated with her family to Athens, Greece. This move initially filled her with the typical trepidations of a young child facing the unknown. However, it wasn't long before her fears were replaced by a deep, abiding love for Athens. This historic city captured her heart, a love that has persisted throughout her life. She spent 11 formative years in Greece, during which she created a trove of memories, many of which are closely linked to the country's vibrant food culture.

Upon her return to Boston for college, Pemi pursued a degree in graphic design. Despite this, her passion for the culinary arts could not be quelled. Driven by this passion, she went back to school and earned a second degree in Culinary Arts from the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts.

Pemi's professional path has been diverse and rich, involving stints at various Boston restaurants, contributions to Greek food blogs, and several years spent teaching cooking and baking workshops. She has also served as a cooking expert and moderator on WorldwideGreeks.com.

After years of moving between Boston and Athens, Pemi has finally made her permanent home in Athens, Greece, with her husband and son. Here, amidst the city's ancient allure, she continues to weave the narrative of her life.
